"When we purchased the 600 feet of lakeshore on Lake Traverse in 1951, it was a popular picnic ground owned by Fred and Agnes Labs where they served fish fries on Friday nights. We soon leased out the kitchen and small dining area to Ken Kiedrowski and he turned it into a steak house, using recipes he had learned from his being a chef in some of St. Paul's fanciest dining establishments.
