History will show that one of the greatest lies ever told was that a baby is simply a choice! The second greatest lie ever told is that abortion is exclusively a woman's health issue. Lies are where Satan lives. Every abortion, is a victory for Satan. Every time a man is removed from the decision or refused the opportunity to create a family, it is a victory for Satan, and it brings darkness to the world. The abortion of my child was the worst choice of my life; the guilt and shame of that "choice" has negatively affected every aspect of my life. The weight of that abortion has hung over me like an anvil, crushing my spirit. Just as Satan fears the light of Christ and the truth in Jesus, the "prochoice crowd" fear men of God. Why? Because once a man surrenders to God's will, Satan has no power over them, and those men will lead their families as God intended. If I were wrong, then why is there so much effort to devalue the contributions of men and remove them from the discussion? Men need to realize that they have a voice in the abortion debate and need to be the men God has always intended them to be.

DISCOVER HOW YOU CAN FIND FREEDOM FROM GUILT AND SHAME Do any of the following apply to you? I need forgiveness from God, but I don't know how to find it. It's only a matter of time before people find out I'm not good enough. I am disconnected and lonely. How can I figure out when I am guilty and when I am innocent? I don't think I'm worth being loved. I don't want to be so angry, jealous, and judgmental. I need to have a stronger connection with God. If these statements sound familiar to you-you are not alone. Even the most emotionally healthy people today experience degrees of the anguish brought on by shame and guilt. The heavy burden of shame and guilt can often keep us from connecting with others and enjoying the freedom of living in Christ. In "Overcoming Guilt and Shame" Dr. Daniel Green and Dr. Mel Lawrenz discuss the many ways in which guilt and shame both subtly and overtly manifest themselves in our lives. Using pastoral counseling and illustrative psychological case studies, they uncover the causes of and healthy responses to shame and guilt. Daniel Green (Ph.D., University of Arkansas) is clinical director of New Life Resources, Inc. in Brookfield, WI. Mel Lawrenz (Ph.D., Marquette University) is minister at large for Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, WI, and director of The Brook Network (www.thebrooknetwork.org).

Collecting Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #20-25. Doctor Aphra is behind bars. Again. But this time she’s in Imperial custody, strapped to an explosive transmitter synced to a single hubdroid. Take one step too far? Kablooey! So what happens when Aphra’s captors send her hubdroid right into the middle of a war zone? And what’s this rumor about the prison being haunted? Meanwhile, Aphra’s got information — and it’s information the Rebellion wants. But how far are they willing to go — and who are they willing to recruit — to get it? Surely even our lovable rogue archaeologist can’t find a way to make things even worse, right? Wrong. Because Aphra’s current flame, Inspector Tolvan, and Aphra’s ex, Sana Starros, are about to meet. Awkward. But that’s nothing compared to a certain tall, dark shadow about to fall across her.

The celebrated author of Border explores a mysterious, ancient, and little-understood corner of Europe Lake Ohrid and Lake Prespa. Two ancient lakes joined by underground rivers. Two lakes that seem to hold both the turbulent memories of the region’s past and the secret of its enduring allure. Two lakes that have played a central role in Kapka Kassabova’s maternal family. As she journeys to her grandmother’s place of origin, Kassabova encounters a historic crossroads. The lakes are set within the mountainous borderlands of North Macedonia, Albania, and Greece, and crowned by the old Via Egnatia, which once connected Rome to Constantinople. A former trading and spiritual nexus of the southern Balkans, this lake region remains one of Eurasia’s most diverse corners. Meanwhile, with their remote rock churches, changeable currents, and large population of migratory birds, the lakes live in their own time. By exploring on water and land the stories of poets, fishermen, and caretakers, misfits, rulers, and inheritors of war and exile, Kassabova uncovers the human destinies shaped by the lakes. Setting out to resolve her own ancestral legacy, Kassabova locates a deeper inquiry into how geography and politics imprint themselves upon families and nations, one that confronts her with universal questions about human suffering and the capacity for change.
