Andrew Zumwalt and his younger brother immigrated to America in 1737 and settled first at Baltimore, Maryland, where he and his wife, Mary, were married. They then settled on a farm in Little York, York County, Pennsylvania. They had five children born in York County. Mary died ca. 1748. He married 2) Ann Regina, a native of Switzerland. They had six children, ca. 1750-ca. 1759. The family migrated to Frederick County, Virginia, ca. 1751. Andrew Zumwalt died in Frederick County in 1764. Children, grandchildren and great grandchildren lived in Virginia, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois and elsewhere. Chiefly follows male lines only.

Andrew Zumwalt was born at Strassburg, Alsace-Lorraine, in 1698. He is said to be the son of Adam Zumwalt. He immigrated to America in 1737 and settled first in Pennsylvania then moved to Frederick Virginia. He married twice. He and his first wife, Mary, had five children; he and his second wife, Ann Regina, had six children. He died in Frederick County in 1764. Descendants lived in Missouri, Illinois, California, Kentucky and elsewhere.
