Alexander Cameron was born 17 June 1833 in Hendersonville, North Carolina. His parents were Neill Cameron (1800-1869) and Elizabeth Campbell (1797-1878). He married Permelia Adelyne Spradling (1843-1914), daughter of Oliver William Spradling (1818-1905) and Jane Catherine Brittain (1822-1869), 22 February 1860 in Greenville, Texas. They had seven children. He died in 1899 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Scotland and Texas.
