Tales of Tails was written to share the joy I experienced over a lifetime with animals. I have learned to love and respect them, whether they are domestic or wild. The book strives to give a voice to these animals and let them tell their story. Several of the tales show unseen relationships between animals that commonly exist in nature. Some of the tales are of animals I have treated as a Veterinarian of medical or surgical problems. Much can be learned from animals through the course of medical treatments. I enjoy sharing my animal lore stories with others through various nature hikes and conversations. The sketches were drawn by a friend who shares my love and respect of animals. Animals are a large part of her life, and she shares my respect for all on God's earth.

THE TALES WITH TAILS - Bed-time stories Written by Victoria Prokhorenko Translated by Danial Saari Illustrated by Anastasia Zhakimova Proofread by Oxana Kuchsh The text of tales includes seven little stories that are read before falling asleep each day of the week. The bed-time stories are printed in Russian and English. True authors of fairy tales live in castles with high towers and there over a cup of cocoa write stories for children. They have a pen and funny hat. I have no castle, no pen, and no hat. But I have a little son who likes fairy tales but cannot write them himself. Therefore, I have to do this. Although I know how he would have called the main characters: Bumbala and Dumbala. They will certainly meet you in the pages of this book! You should only close your eyes and listen carefully... Happy reading and nice dreams!

Tails are everywhere, at animal shows, in zoos, museums, the sea, aquariums and on pets and wildlife. Most of the two million species of animals and many of the 4800 species of mammals have part of their body that can be considered a tail by its position or movement. This book looks at some of the creatures that possess tails, what they do with them and what possible use they have. It also looks at examples of mythological creatures with tails, the tails we eat, where tails are mentioned in literature and sayings and words associated with the word tails. It's all about tails, so if you haven't got a tail and feel a little bit left out, find out what you're missing and read 'Tails Tales'.
