On October 11th 2003 my niece, Rosemary Joy Rose was killed in a car accident. Her vehicle caught fire and burned. Rosemary's neck was broken, so she died instantly. How do we say goodbye to a love one without the body? I decided to write a poem for my niece, Rosemary. This was my way of saying goodbye. My sister, Kandy asked me to write a life poem for her favorite 19 pictures of Rosemary. I have compiled this book of 21 poems and 19 pictures as a tribute to Rosemary. This book conveys her short lived life story. In conclusion, if you have lost a loved one or friend. I can only hope and pray that when you read one of Rosemary Joy Rose poems, it will bring back a fond memory of your loved one or friend.

A Beautiful Rose includes poems that were written based on Yvonnes personal experiences. Within these pages, she gives insight on key relationships in her life. Yvonne used empathy in some of her poems. The poem Homeless is a great example of this. When young women read Yvonnes poetry, she hopes that they realize how beautiful and special they are regardless of unfavorable circumstances. Yvonne celebrates life and love through her poetry and most importantly, she celebrates herself; a beautiful rose.

This book reflects poems of everyday people who have risen from the pit of life to excellence and people who have fallen into the pit of life and may never rise up to their human potential of excellence. Carol Coles has been touched by Roses from the Divine, experiencing life changes from the ghetto and rising to a measure of excellence by traveling across the United States from the East, Midwest, and finally to the West, settling in California. Each city held its own beauty, challenges, tears, and love, with every divine rose that came into the author's life, then faded, leaving life's lessons that can only be told through poetry of the written word. Roses from the Divine moves from life's observance of women who rose out of nothing to claim their place in the world as written in the poem "Women of Excellence." Women whose work was steadfast, and their beliefs in the impossible become the possible. Women whose strength, love, and dedication to the goal was unrivaled no matter the challenges, both big and small, which uplifted them-role models for those women who would follow and make their own paths of excellence. Roses from the Divine moves the reader to those that fall into the pit of life as in the poem "Walk the Streets," which paints a picture of daily destruction of the soul. A painful reminder of lives that never see beyond the dark, but in their hearts look for a way out, but life may not show them a way out until the final darkness closes their soul of hope. In Roses from the Divine, the poet reaches out and reflects on individual encounters, friends and passersby, observations of nature's mystery, and those individuals touched by the divine. Finally, we reach the "portal of time," where all of us individually must go and step through the portal with the realization that we look into infinity with our individual souls that reflect "I am." May all of us reach the portal of time knowing that we gave this life our best.

Poetry should remind the reader that words are magic, and that this magic can take us on a memorable voyage through the world of emotions. Such is the case with the poetry of Rosalie Cooper. In "A Rose In Bloom," this talented poet--a victim of MST ( Military Sexual Trauma) and domestic violence who pulled herself from the quagmire of being a victim--reveals the very inner strength that moved her life forward. In this moving poetry, Cooper reveals the determination and hope that shifted her from thoughts of suicide to a path toward survival and a promising life. Included in "A Rose In Bloom" are poems of pain and joy, as well as an honest look into the angst and awareness of one woman's journey toward emotional health. The poetry is both dark and light, ominous and hopeful, each phrase reflecting one woman's wish to live a life of health and freedom, and expressed in a compelling and sensitive style. Readers who are following their own quests toward well-being and joy will find these poems supportive, meaningful and life-giving.

On August 30, 1995, 18-year-old Torontonian Stacey Levitt, out jogging after her shift as a lifeguard, was struck and killed by a car. Her death caused an outpouring of grief not just among family and friends but in a larger community shocked by the tragic loss, so early, of such a beautiful life. She was a superior dancer and athlete, a top student, and a friend to many. And she was a gifted young poet. From the age of eight, Stacey demonstrated an extraordinary ability to capture in words the beauty and wonder of her world. She kept a journal of her favourite poems, which served to comfort her family and friends in their time of sorrow. Staceys parents, Ned and Cheryl, published I Am a Rose, a collection of her poetry, shortly after her death. Now readers coast to coast can share in beautiful poems that have moved thousands of people to tears, brought comfort to countless hurting souls, and made everyone who has read them reflect on the meaning of life. This book of poems served as an inspiration to a television documentary, I Am a Rose, which filmed her fathers arduous completion of Staceys climb up Mt. Ixta in Mexico, which had been cut short for her by a storm. The poetry collection, and Staceys story, have become known by climbers from around the world as they read her work at a memorial set up for her before the last ascent up the mountain.
