Wallace Blanton, of Richmond, and while much was confidently expected of him, the result surpassed those expectations. Approximately has been secured in cash or pledges coming from about 800 contributors as against something in excess of from 850 contributors last year. The fact that the number of contributors is a little less than that of last year is easily explained in that so many of our younger Alumni are in the armed forces and scattered over both hemispheres and were unable to be reached.
