The Pasajes series is one of the most widely used and highly respected programs for intermediate Spanish courses in North America. As in previous editions, the sixth edition of Pasajes consists of three volumes, all coordinated by theme, chapter by chapter: a review of grammar (Lengua), a cultural reader Cultura), and a literary reader (Literatura). The result is a very flexible program that can be used in any combination and thus is easily adapted to suit the needs of a wide variety of instructors and intermediate courses. The new edition offers a brand new interior design, brief new cultural readings with accompanying photos, updated and revised activities, and more!

This Spanish-language anthology contains selections by 45 Latin-American authors. It is intended as a text for upper division Latin American literature survey courses. The anthology presumes a high level of linguistic command of Spanish, and it contains footnotes to allusions and cultural references, as well as words and phrases not found in standard bilingual dictionaries used in the US. Emphasis is on major 20th-century writers, while important works from colonial and 19th-century literature as also included. The diverse selections of Literature Hispanoamericana will enable students to have a more sustained exposure to major voices of Latin American literature than possible in anthologies built around fragments. By focusing on fewer authors but more significant selections from their writings, students will have a greater grasp of major canonical figures as well as emergent voices.

By utilizing the testimonial narrative of Rigoberta Menchú—a Mayan-Quiché of Guatemala and winner of the 1992 Nobel Peace Prize—teachers in this volume engage students in vital and relevant cross-cultural learning in a variety of locations, disciplines, and levels. Teaching and Testimony tells teachers' stories of using Menchu's testimonial in their classrooms, and invites reflection on the transformative possibility of integrating previously marginalized voices. Energized by the teaching of Menchu's testimonial narrative, I, Rigoberta Menchú, these teachers let their guard down, wrestle with the immediate difficulties and possibilities of multicultural teaching, and speak with passion about the importance of what they and their students are learning.
