To that end there is a Landsat coordination group which will be jointly chaired by the two agencies. The goals for the follow-ou Landsat, Landsat 7, are simple. We want to maintain data continuity. And to that end, Landsat 7 will have the same capabilities as Landsat 6, and will provide continu ities through Landsats 4, 5, 6, and then 7. The system will be oper ated in such a way as to make the data available to all u.s. Civil ian, national security, and private sector users.
