Just when they thought life couldn’t get any sweeter… Ginny Black is so close to getting her happily-ever-after, she can practically taste it. When she isn’t working at the ice cream store she owns in Blossom Branch, she’s snuggled up with her dream guy, Donovan, a successful local woodworker. So after he asks her to move in with him, of course she’s thrilled—and a little terrified. Mainly because he hasn’t said those three little words…but also because she just learned she’s pregnant. Ginny can’t say yes to his offer until she tells him about the baby—and her morning sickness doesn’t make the situation easier. She’s starting to feel like more of a burden than a partner. What if Donovan simply goes along with it because it’s the right thing to do, not because he loves her? Sooner or later though, she’ll have to come clean. And when she finally does, she may just realize that building a family with the man of her dreams was what they both wanted all along.

My book, Where ́s My Baby, was written because I believe that I need to reach out to other women who are going through the same thing, not knowing where their baby is. I also hope and pray that somewhere out there my baby will recognize who he or she really is. This is very sad to realize that someone actually stole your baby. I hope that this will open the readers’ eyes to know that this can happen to anyone. I was innocent and naive. I would definitely fight for my right today. I wish my baby will find me through this book. God help us. As time goes on I wonder, will I ever find my baby? I don ́t ever want to give up hope, yet its hard to realize that I may be the one who will never know where my baby is. If their are women out there who don ́t know what happened to their baby - please email me at [email protected] and let me know. We can continue this search together.

About one-third of births in the United States occur to unmarried parents. Evidence suggests that children who grow up in families headed by single parents have worse socioeconomic outcomes than those raised by married parents. "Fatherlessness" has become a byword in public debate and policymaking, yet fundamental questions about unmarried parents and their ideas of paternal responsibility remain unanswered. In My Baby's Father, Maureen R. Waller draws on interviews with unmarried parents whose children receive welfare to address several basic, vital questions: How do low-income mothers and fathers define the father's obligation to his children and explain irresponsible behavior among fathers? How do they negotiate private arrangements of paternal acknowledgment and support? And how do these informal practices interact with mandatory welfare and child-support regulations? The majority of research on low-income families focuses on single mothers. Waller's book also gives a voice to the fathers, historically either excluded from academic and policy discussions or simply characterized as "deadbeat dads" with no sense of paternal responsibility. By documenting the experiences of African-American and white parents simultaneously, Waller illustrates the extent to which beliefs and practices are likely to cut across racial lines. She also shifts the focus from teenagers to adults, who constitute the largest group of unmarried parents. My Baby's Father provides honest glimpses into the lives of unmarried parents. In addition, it offers specific recommendations for social policies that are both better suited to unmarried parents' socioeconomic situations and more responsive to the practices of responsible fatherhood in low-income families.

Teresa Strasser made her baby a spleen and some eyebrows. He got her a book deal. Everyone loves babies-and pregnant women-so TV and radio personality Teresa Strasser decided to use this obsession to her advantage. She came up with a way to provide for her newfound family and help other mommies-to-be with this down- and-dirty memoir about first-time pregnancy. An award-winning writer, Teresa is achingly honest about the motherhood she begins experiencing at age thirty-eight. With a biting sense of humor and heart, she portrays the tribulations that come with each trimester, from nausea, weight gain, and bladder infections to dealing with those other kinds of pregnant women. (You know the ones. The ones who glow-and gloat about it.) Exploiting My Baby is a must-read for anyone pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or who is just more crazy than baby-crazy. Hopping on a trail pioneered by such lions as Laura Ingalls Wilder, Erma Bombeck, and Tori Spelling, Teresa has no problem using her pregnancy, childbirth and difficult relationship with her own mother for material. It's her blunt and plain-spoken approach to exploiting her family for literary success that sets her apart. Watch a Video
