The Marine Analytical Chemistry Standards Program (MACSP) of the National Research Council of Canada (NRCC) is described. This program, established in 1976, has resulted in the production, to date, of seven reference materials for the determination of trace metals and organic compounds in marine materials. Significant contributions to the analysis of marine materials have been made in the NRCC laboratories, and through MACSP contracts. Some current projects and plans for future reference materials are also discussed.

The Marine Analytical Chemistry Standards Program was established in 1976 by the National Research Council of Canada in support of analytical aspects of marine chemistry. Part of the mandate of the program has been the development of a series of reference materials for the determination of trace inorganic and organic constituents of marine samples. Among the samples prepared to date are a set of two sediment reference materials for the determination of trace elements and inorganic constituents and a set of three sediment reference materials for the determination of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB).

Download Reference Materials for Environmental Analysis Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
When an environmental analysis is performed-for example, to determine the quality of water in a lake or to analyze contaminants in fish-it is necessary to have a standard reference against which to compare results. Reference Materials for Environmental Analysis covers standards for environmental analysis in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and elsewhere around the globe. It contains all standards, including those for soil, water, gaseous, and biological analysis. Government, private, and academic laboratories will all need a copy of this book!

This updated and expanded Second Edition of Dr. Erickson's Analytical Chemistry of PCBs appears a decade after the first and is completely revised and updated. The changes from the First Edition reflect the significant growth in the area and a growing appreciation of the importance of PCB analysis to our culture. This book is a comprehensive review of the analytical chemistry of PCBs. It is part history, part annotated bibliography, part comparison, and part guidance. Featuring a new chapter on analyst/customer interactions and several new appendices, the Second Edition is an invaluable resource for both chemists with no experience in PCB analysis and seasoned PCB researchers. All topics have been more thoroughly treated and updated in this new edition to reflect advances made in the last decade, especially:
