Sunrises and Sunsets: A Daily Journey of Renewal, Redemption, and Rejoicing illustrates a different understanding of hope that will give confidence to the reader that hope is possible to have again. Interspersed in the daily devotions are three stories of persons who discovered hope again when they were able to redefine what hope is really and then be able to reperceive the struggle they are facing that does not include seeing oneself as a victim or a persecutor, but as a child of God with a vision of renewal and redemption. "My friend and colleague, Dr. Bill Stephenson, offers us a unique book that takes the reader on an intriguing journey of reflection and response. His intention is to guide us into a deep and honest conversation with ourselves. Frequently he addresses his "soul," a voice within all of us, not easily heard, but often rewarding." - Rev. Richard Smith, retired United Methodist Minister and Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor. "To me, the elegant simplicity of having a prayer to begin my day and a subsequent prayer when the day reaches its predictable end is wonderful. How much better things would be if I were reminded, on a daily basis, to do just that: talk to God. And having a space to record my reflections takes the whole experience to another level." - Rick Morris, Award-Winning Educator and Author.

Have you ever woken up one day and realized that your life was a train wreck and you were driving the train? I did. Then, I met Jesus and He changed my life. He pursued me with His love and brought others around me to show me what relationship with Him was. What you are holding in your hands is merely some things He has said to me, shown me during this journey so far. I hope that you enjoy this journey as much as I have. May He bless the journey!

What are the lies you believe every day? Perhaps you're not even aware of them! The battle for our everyday freedom begins in the mind - the realm of our thinking. Learning to replace old thoughts with new thoughts and false thoughts with true thoughts can lift away the heaviest of burdens and help you experience the abundant life God offers. On this 40-day devotional journey, you'll discover what it means to "be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2) in these seven key areas of life: Faith, Failure, Family, Friends, Foes, Finances and the Future. How badly do you want to be free from the things that bind you up emotionally and behaviorally? Why wait another day when you can begin experiencing freedom right now?

Pentecostal and charismatic renewal movements have seen great growth over the last century and have engaged with many Christian traditions. Yet there are signs that all is not well, and there is a need to develop theologies of renewal that engage with practice and across the traditions if the movements are to continue to grow. In particular, this book seeks an ecumenical engagement between David Watson and Thomas Merton, leaders in the charismatic and monastic renewal movements. The aim is to reflect on the theological roots of these renewal movements through a study of particular people who lived them in practice and sought to help others understand how the triune God was at work. This is done against the wider background of contemporary renewalist theology to develop constructive proposals for renewal theology in the future. Receptive ecumenism provides the method for bringing the different voices into conversation in ways that also point forward in approaches to ecumenical dialogue. It is thus a studyrelevant to those seeking new ways in theology, those involved in renewal and ecumenical movements, students of Thomas Merton, and all who seek to better understand the Christian renewal movements that have swept the world.
