Finally a book that is not afraid to tackle a serious problem in the 21st Century Evangelical Christian Church. And that problem is two-fold. Why is the God of Hyper-Calvinism so angry? Angry enough that He would create human beings with the express purpose of leaving them out of His salvation plan, and they even tell us it is all for His glory! And why do so many who follow this theological view often act so arrogant, angry and contentious about their system, known by the acronym "Tulip?" Join Pastors Al & Joel as they "peel back" if you will, the layers of this unbiblical Theological system.

Download The Emergence of Hyper-Calvinism in English Nonconformity 1689–1765 Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
During the past three years Peter Toon published articles dealing with various facets of Calvinistic theology in the Age of Reason. These articles were by-products of research he was conducting at London University into the origins of a logical, arid form of Calvinism (hyper-Calvinism) found among Congregationalists and Baptists in the first half of the 18th century. His thesis was completed in March 1967, and with some modifications is now published as a book. Though his study has particular relevance to Strict Baptist, who have become the custodians of hyper-Calvinism, it is also a contribution to our knowledge of the 18th century Nonconformity as well as the history of the development of Reformed doctrine. In the Preface Dr. J. I. Packer states: "The story is a cautionary tale with timely lessons for those who seek a revival of Reformed Christianity today."

Is there a "well-meant offer" of salvation to all men? Or is the call of the gospel restricted to the elect only? Is there an alternative to these two extremes? This book sets forth and defends the Reformed position of the gospel call to all mankind.

Download Restoration through Redemption: John Calvin Revisited Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
Restoration through Redemption offers examples of three ways in which John Calvin’s theology can be revisited: by analysis, assessment, and reception. This volume contains analyses of Calvin’s position on the trinity and on politics, as well as assessments of his theology for evolutionary biology and comparative ecclesiology. It also discusses the reception of his heritage, for instance, in North America and South Africa. The central theme in this volume is Calvin’s approach to the renewal of creation that hinges on Christ the Redeemer. One of the golden threads is Calvin’s emphasis upon the meditatio on the future life, the turning of the believer towards the eschatological perspective. Contributors include: J. Todd Billings, Johan Buitendag, Jaeseung Cha, Ernst M. Conradie, Roger Haight, I. John Hesselink, Rinse Reeling Brouwer, Philippe Theron, Henk van den Belt, Gijsbert van den Brink, Cornelis van der Kooi, J.H. (Amie) van Wyk, J.M. (Koos) Vorster, Nico Vorster, Robert Vosloo, and Paul Wells.
