These six volumes contain the invited and other papers presented at the Ninth International Heat Transfer Conference. The papers consist of one plenary lecture, 30 keynote lectures, and 422 general presentations. The Ninth International Heat Transfer Conference, held in the eternal city, Jerusalem, again received most enthusiastic responses from the international community. It is particularly gratifying to see the increased number of papers from the Far East, which necessitated adjustments of quotas. In all countries, the number of good-quality papers offered for presentation far exceeded the allocation, thus making the selection a most difficult task.
