Preliminary data on the July 1956 catch of fishery products from Florida water indicate that landings amounted to 15.7 million pounds. This 37 percent increase over the corresponding month last year was due primarily to a 6.8 million pound gain in menhaden receipts. The July 1956 shrimp production (3.3 million pounds) was 32 percent less than reported for the same period of 1955 due partly to Florida vessels landing at other South Atlantic and Gulf ports.
