A major aspect of the history of Christian missions is the way groups who have jumped the ecclesiastical ship have renewed and recalled their parent bodies back to biblical roots and a biblical vision. This book examines fourteen such vibrant Christian movements which operated outside the box. Each chapter ends with a practical section highlighting those factors that made the particular group successful. They were all missional movements that pursued a Christian vision and developed structures to facilitate it. In contrast, the traditional organizations from which they emerged tended to do mission from an established, given structure. Here are seriously committed movements that offer a dynamic challenge to our contemporary churches.

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The integrative approach to cancer has become increasingly popular, and is being used by millions of people around the country. It is important to treat patients like family members, which is why we use the terms patient and person interchangeably. #2 The first case we’re going to look at is that of a 84-year-old woman who was diagnosed with metastatic abdominal cancer. Her oncologist advised her to avoid chemotherapy or surgery, but she was not willing to simply wait to die. She grew her own food, ate healthily, and didn’t smoke or drink alcohol. #3 Rose was treated with high-dose intravenous vitamin C, and after the first week of treatment, she felt an increase in her energy levels. By week three, she could eat without pain and eat more than before. By the fifth week, her digestion problems had gone away. #4 The human papilloma virus, which caused the cancer in this case, can be treated with a series of radiation treatments and chemotherapy. The holistic therapies helped to stabilize Barry’s weight and energy levels, and he was able to avoid having a surgically implanted feeding tube inserted into his abdomen.

This book sets out with the question why Ethiopia a country with one of the oldest still existing state-formations in the world and a farming population that has domesticated a number of indigenous food products, including coffee, oilseeds and Eragrostis teff - remains one of the poorest in the world. To answer this question the authors review the history of Ethiopia from the earliest centuries A.D. until the 21st century dispelling a number of prevalent myths in the process. The book covers topics such as ethnicity (a hot issue in todays Ethiopian politics), international relations with especially Britain and Italy, and the countrys lack of technical and economic progress. A survey of the current situation in Ethiopia sets the scene for comparisons with other countries. An examination of the history of the West illustrates how the autonomy of intellectual inquiry could promote a spiral of knowledge, pave the way for the Industrial Revolution and allow western countries to attain the highest standard of living in the world. A review of some East Asian countries (Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan) exemplifies how they could catch-up with the West. Against the backdrop of these studies, the authors find the basic causes for Ethiopias poverty to be missed or messed-up opportunities to adopt available scientific knowledge and technology. Premising that a decent living standard, a catch-up, should be the only reasonable goal also for Ethiopian citizens, the authors propose that the country must emphasize promotion of a) knowledge and information (rather than focusing numbers of school children and schools) and of b) entrepreneurship in all economic sectors. To boost these requirements successfully, the authors argue that all involved in the present development agenda need to think outside the box and reassess at least two common assumptions about Ethiopias future namely, that only heavy-handed state guidance can bring about rapid development and that peasants and pastoralists are ignorant and must be told what to do.

For centuries, people attempted to know, why religion? What are the roots of religion? Can we function and lead a decent, moral, meaningful, and good life without blindly believing religious dogmas? So many questions are in the human mind. We are the superior species of all species on earth, and thus, we are free to think, gather new knowledge, innovate, and create new things by virtue of our brains capability and power. This natural gift prompts us to ask unending questions and find answers to those questions. But religions block our freethinking and suggest not thinking beyond the holy books but believing them blindly. This is like totalitarianism modus operandi that silences the dissents. This is an important book and the first of its kind that gives a challenging proposition as to how we can live a good, moral, productive, and meaningful life without instilling blind religious faith but to think rationally and lead life with reason, progress, prosperity, and happinessa humanistic life. We just need new principles based on scientific worldview, that is, science, technology, progress, civilization, and humanity growing together. Conventional religions cannot free people, but freethinking, knowledge, and karma can. The most realistic approach is one world, one life, one god, one universal religionhumanity.

Have you taken into consideration the spiritual aspects of Christian marriage? There’s more significance to the Christian marriage than just the “I do’s”, going on the honeymoon and the day-to-day living that couples experience. “Think Outside the Box Concerning Marriage” breaks some new ground in giving understanding of the spiritual aspects of Christian marriage. First of all, God didn’t punish Adam and Eve for eating the forbidden fruit. God set Adam and Eve in right relationship with God and each other so neither of them would have an independent spirit from God and each other. “Think Outside the Box Concerning Marriage” paints a beautiful picture of the spiritual aspect of Christian marriage. Ephesians 5 talks about it in detail. The key verse is Ephesians 5:21, “Submitting yourselves to one another in the fear of God.” This flies in the face of traditional church teaching that the husband “wears the pants in the family.” The scripture in Ephesians 5 that the husband “wears the pants in the family”. Although the husband is noted as being the head of the wife, the assignment is more for responsibility and accountability toward God. This book explains that Christian marriage is a picture of Christ and the church. The man is instructed to love his wife as Christ loved the church by loving it and giving Himself for it. The wife is instructed to reverence her husband. The passage proclaims that Christian marriage is a picture of the resurrected Christ, that we are of His flesh and of His bones.-Ephesians 5:30, Simplified KJV. This gives the marriage resurrected life.

Mainstream medicine in America focuses on symptoms rather than causes of chronic illness and poor health. Medical education is influenced to a great extent by pharmaceutical companies and focuses our attention dangerously onto drug therapies. Conventional medicine practice has been failing miserably to control or treat the chronic disease entities afflicting our population in the modern era. Integrative medicine concepts and practice offer people much safer and often more effective options for achieving and maintaining health, as well as combating most forms of chronic disease. The keys include understanding what it really takes to promote human health in a broad sense and what the underlying causes of chronic disease truly are. Thinking Outside the Pill Box contains an explanation of how our medical system came to be so defective and ineffectual, a thorough look at the important factors influencing human health, and an in-depth discussion of many common underlying causes of chronic illness in the modern world. It is designed as a self-help book for both the reader and their future generations.
