“An important reminder of simple everyday practices to improve how we all work together, which will lead to greater team and individual happiness and performance. Great results will follow.”—Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter and Square “With just 30 changes, you can transform your work experience from bland and boring (or worse) to fulfilling, fun, and even joyful.”—Daniel Pink, author of When and Drive The vice president of Twitter Europe and host of the top business podcast Eat Sleep Work Repeat offers thirty smart, research-based hacks for bringing joy and fun back into our burned out, uninspired work lives. How does a lunch break spark a burst of productivity? Can a team’s performance be improved simply by moving the location of the coffee maker? Why are meetings so often a waste of time, and how can a walking meeting actually get decisions made? As an executive with decades of management experience at top Silicon Valley companies including YouTube, Google, and Twitter, Bruce Daisley has given a lot of thought to what makes a workforce productive and what factors can improve the workplace to benefit a company’s employees, customers, and bottom line. In his debut book, he shares what he’s discovered, offering practical, often counterintuitive, insights and solutions for reinvigorating work to give us more meaning, productivity, and joy at the office. A Gallup survey of global workers revealed shocking news: only 13% of employees are engaged in their jobs. This means that burn out and unhappiness at work are a reality for the vast majority of workers. Managers—and employees themselves—can make work better. Eat Sleep Work Repeat shows them how, offering more than two dozen research-backed, user-friendly strategies, including: Go to Lunch (it makes you less tired over the weekend) Suggest a Tea Break (it increases team cohesiveness and productivity) Conduct a Pre-Mortem (foreseeing possible issues can prevent problems and creates a spirit of curiosity and inquisitiveness) “Let’s start enjoying our jobs again,” Daisley insists. “It’s time to rediscover the joy of work.”

This book describes my life and experiences as a Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) worker in the oil and gas industry, from trainee to fifteen-year veteran. My career - so far - has included stints on four offshore facilities and one major onshore LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project. I currently work on the World's largest floating object which I helped build in South Korea over a three year period. These experiences have been unique in many ways, but are conveyed in a very human way; I was not interested in writing a technical book, a history of the industry, or an environmental tome of monumental importance. This is just a story of my life as a FIFO worker during one of the busiest and most interesting times in the industry, particularly Australia. For example, my current facility was the first floating LNG plant ever designed, and is a game changer for the industry, but the process is described in laymen's terms, easy to understand. We have also seen major upheaval caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; border restrictions, enforced separation and isolation, falls in oil prices and increased Unionism. In short, this is a description of a unique way of working and living. It involves a cast of hundreds of characters, places and events, most of them amusing, some of them sad or possibly even exciting, a lot of them are things that are small in their own way but have never been presented in a book, with the possible exception of "Don't Tell Mum I Work on the Rigs, She Thinks I'm a Piano Player in a Whorehouse ". It is what we do on a day-to-day basis when we are at work, and I believe that a large amount of "normal" people are very interested in this lifestyle, apart from the 150,000 plus FIFO workers based in Australia, Canada and elsewhere. It also openly and honestly describes my descent into depression, sometimes so bad I wanted to suicide. FIFO can be hard. FIFO is a different life altogether, it comes with its own issues and problems, from distances travelled, the method of getting there, fatigue, dangerous conditions, depression, anxiety, separation from family and The World, huge relationship hurdles, as well as the concept of being trapped by the lifestyle and the large salaries, the Golden Handcuffs as we call it. In fact, this book is a study of Australian working culture in many ways with all its blemishes. The lifestyle is not for everyone, especially offshore, and many people have crashed and burned in the time I have been in the job. We do a minimum of 12 hour days, 7 days a week, up to 28 days straight, sometimes longer when storms hit or choppers fail. At the same time a lot of us get paid well and we get decent breaks where we spend that money we earn. And we work with some of the best people on the planet, even if the Companies and their management structures leave a lot to be desired. I hope you enjoy it and find it interesting.

A down-to-earth, actionable guide that culls through the chaos of information and misinformation into digestible, accessible chapters that balances proven science with the demands of being a busy new parent of toddler. Congratulations! You’ve survived the first twelve months of parenthood, along with all the joys, worry, and sleep deprivation they bring. Welcome to the toddler years—and a whole new set of challenges. From toilet training, picky eating, and naptime to separation anxiety, screen time, and (whisper it) tantrums, toddlerhood brings developmental milestones and decisions that can feel totally daunting, especially in this golden age of mommy bloggers, parenting podcasts, and fear-mongering posts. How can you feel confident and empowered in your choices when there is so much at stake? As both an experienced pediatrician and a mother, Rebekah Diamond understands the need for a child rearing approach that keeps things simple, without sacrificing science or safety. Just as she did in her first book, Parent Like a Pediatrician, which focused on your baby’s first year, she cuts through the noise to tackle the wonders and hardships of raising a toddler. Are you bored and baffled by spin doctors telling you how to succeed, how to make $1 000 000 or how to build the best business in just 30 days? Everyone claims to have the next best short cut or hack to help you along the path of entrepreneurship. It's all bullshit. In his business autobiography Do. Fail. Learn. Repeat. Nicholas Haralambous discusses the truth about the last 15 years of his entrepreneurial journey. ANYONE CAN START SOMETHING. Nic openly discusses his failures and sacrifices over the past decade and a half spent building businesses. There is advice all over the place about the rules to follow if you want to succeed, the do's and don'ts of running a company, the how-to of how-to do this, that or the next thing. There are also many personalities out there telling young entrepreneurs to hustle non-stop, risk everything and never sleep if they want success. YOUR CHANCE OF FAILURE IS ALMOST GUARANTEED. No one talks about how hard it is, how lonely it is and how difficult it is to build a business. No one is willing to forgo their ego and be honest. If nothing else, Nic Haralambous is honest about his journey. MOST PEOPLE WON'T LEARN. Nic has lived the hustle; he has pushed through physical pain, mental suffering, business failures, personal torment and relationship strife all in the name of building businesses. ALMOST NO ONE DOES IT AGAIN. Nic decided to write a big book of his failures so that entrepreneurs around the world can begin to understand that it is not always glamorous, easy or fun to build a business. If entrepreneurship is calling you then you absolutely cannot miss out on the truth, behind the business, written by Nic Haralambous.
