Download Cross-Chain Collaboration in Logistics Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
This book examines cross-chain control centers (4C), an ambitious concept in supply chain management and logistics that is intended to foster collaboration between different supply chains to increase efficiency. It provides an overview of the main results, insights, and other developments in the academic field of horizontal collaboration. Furthermore, it gives recommendations to governments, commercial companies, and academia on how to proceed with horizontal logistics collaboration in the years to come. To link research with practice, the book takes the Dutch project on cross-chain collaboration centers (4Cs) and identifies a typology of existing patterns for horizontal collaboration in supply chains. Finally, the book zooms in on the Netherlands as a case-study of intense public-private partnerships to develop 4C as a mature logistics value proposition. It provides an overview of the accomplishments in the government supported 4C projects and offers a critical reflection of why some more ambitious and structural solutions have not found solid ground yet. The book is of value to researchers and professionals in the supply chain domain.

Download Examining the Factors Effecting Supply Chain Collaboration and Firm Performance with Moderating Role of Supply Chain Capability and Human Capital Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
The purpose of this research is to understand the link between trust, technology, and supply chain collaboration and their impact on firms' operational performances. Design/methodology/approach Based on extant literature, a hypothesized model was developed and tested using structural equation modeling (i.e., Smart PLS). A survey was conducted to collect data from the supply chain managers of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies in Pakistan. Findings The study findings suggest that through an on-going relationship, trust evolves and is shaped over time and can form a competitive capability that may not be easy for competitors to replicate. Both trust and technology along with information sharing and process of supply chain process are found to have a significant impact on supply chain collaboration and firms' operational performances. Furthermore, supply chain adsorbability and human capacity have also been found to be most affected as moderating variables. One of the major limitations of the study is that the data was obtained from one single economy, which restricts its generalizability across other economies. The study was a cross-sectional and descriptive sample of the FMCG industry at a given point in time. A more stringent test of the relationships between trust, technology, supply chain collaboration, and operational performance requires an in-depth case study or longitudinal study.

Hyper competition and globalization mean that markets are changing. There is aggressive competition, shortening product life cycles, financial pressures and ever more demanding customers and consumers. Companies need to adopt new practices and new ways of thinking, so they are looking at collaboration across supply chains to become more sustainable, efficient and economical. Collaborative Principles for Better Supply Chain Practice looks at behavioural and commercial collaborative business principles and their application by means of case studies which showcase collaboration success across the private, public and 3rd sectors. Collaborative Principles for Better Supply Chain Practice covers different perspectives: the client looking down the supply chain, the suppliers looking up the supply chain and the inter-dependencies of organizations horizontally across the supply chain. The book explores operational and project-type environments in different industry sectors, which will help you think about your supply chain differently and optimize your processes to achieve supply chain excellence. Download The Relationship-Driven Supply Chain Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
Collaboration in supply chains means managing the chain beyond traditional or transactional methods. It involves rethinking the way your business is managed, both internally and externally, and the ways in which employees and partners relate to each other. Stuart Emmett and Barry Crocker's book explains how a relationship-based approach to supply chain management can transform business; how to organise your business internally for effective supply chain relationships and how to transform your external supply chain using relationship marketing, customer relationship management and supply chain partnerships. One of the key distinguishing characteristics of a high performing supply chain is the presence of strategic trust. With strategic trust, the parties have access to each other's strategic plans; relevant cost information and forecasts are shared; risks and rewards are addressed openly. This book explains how to embed a culture of inter-company trust and to realise the benefits of improved supply chain relationships.
