Leavitt, at Clinton Hall, Astor Place, on the Evening of Thursday, October 10th, 1878 In regard to the condition of the various pieces, we can assure intending purchasers at a distance that they have all been faithfully described, and, in cases of the slightest doubt, the condition of the coins has, if anything, been rather underestimated. To the large number of new collectors to whom this Catalogue will be sent, and who have not yet commenced to purchase their coins at auction, we would say in regard to the selling, each lot will be knocked clown to the highest bidder the lots are sold so much for each coin in it, so if you desire a lot of coins which contains ten, and you wish to pay for it, your bid should be 10 cents, which would be for the lot. Amateurs sending their bids in from a distance, should be very particular in regard to this. The Auctioneers. Messrs. Scott, and other dealers, will attend to the purchasing of any desired lots for parties unable to attend the sale, at a charge of 10 per cent. Always state your highest price.
