Podcasting is the new media form that has taken the world by storm, and it is no surprise that many people want to take advantage of this popular medium. But with some 65% of all podcasts having less than 10 episodes, podfading is a real thing. Most people have no idea what they are letting themselves in for when they start podcasting, and it is no surprise that so few people actually make in success of it. This book shows you everything you need to know to master the art of podcasting. It starts right at the beginning, exploring the reasons why you want to start a podcast, taking you systematically through all the aspects you need to understand to make a success out of it. You will learn how to define your ideal listener, which genres and formats are best suited to your content, and how to niche down into your chosen niche. You will learn everything that you need to set yourself up to get started, from the equipment you need to the billboards and ads you will need to produce. You will get insights into the production process with tips on how to script, record, and edit your audio. Once you have some great content, you will need to distribute and market it. You will learn some special podcast marketing tricks and find out how to reach your earlier-defined ideal listener. This will include advice on how to name your podcast series and the individual episodes, write the descriptions, and design the various graphics you will need to make your podcast stand out from the rest. Most importantly, you will get insights into the various ways in which you can monetize your podcast to not only cover the costs but make a tidy profit. If Joe Rogan can do it, why not you? In short, this book will empower you to become a more than just an ordinary podcaster. With a workbook at the end of each chapter to help you apply the information practically, you will be able to become a podmaster.

There are few books that surprise their readers on every pageeven fewer that show readers how to live. Boldly, the OUROH trilogy does both. Trevor and Trudy, siblings from Earth, take an unforgettable journey through these pages, a journey you will gladly take alongside them; theyre the kind of inspiring characters that live and breathe on the page and live on in your mind and heart long after the storys final word. You cant help but root for and identify with them. Their journey is rich with the power of words and wishes, spoken and unspoken. Its a journey not only through time (recycled time), but past time; not only through our known universe, but past it to another, and another (Ouroh is the center of thirteen multiverses); not only through our minds and senses, but past what weve been conditioned to perceive to a whole new way of seeing and knowing. This epic tale has been created by a master storyteller and modern-day philosopher, one who understands that acknowledging lifes interconnectedness and relying on present-moment awareness are the keys to true happiness. But you wont be pummeled with speeches or agendas; instead, this wisdom is skillfully woven into the narratives fabric. Trevor and Trudy are joined by Ideas and Imagination, their Ouroh counterparts, as well as an unforgettable cast of supporting characters, including the fascinating Planimals (part plant, part animal, in a myriad of astounding varieties). Thrumming with heart-pounding tension and suspense, the story asks: Will the children save the multiverses from an errant word? Will they right the word that went wrong? In a time when people complain that there is nothing new under the sun, it is quite a rare achievement to discover a book unlike any other. The OUROH trilogy is a true gift indeed.

Nobody knows what strange force partitioned space into these "regions of thought," but when the warring Straumli realm use an ancient Transcendent artifact as a weapon, they unwittingly unleash an awesome power that destroys thousands of worlds and enslaves all natural and artificial intelligence. A Fire Upon The Deep — Fleeing a galactic threat, Ravna crash lands on a strange world with a ship hold full of cryogenically frozen children, the only survivors. They are taken captive by the Tines, an alien race with a harsh medieval culture, and used as pawns in a ruthless power struggle. The Children of the Sky — Ten years have passed on Tines World, and Ravna and the children have survived a war. While there is peace among the Tines, there are those among them—and among the humans—who seek power...and no matter the cost, these malcontents are determined to overturn the fledgling civilization that has taken root since the humans landed. The cybernetic dream which pervades Soviet bureaucracy after Stalin produced a relatively liberal and generous science policy. In linguistics, the new spirit gave rise to a variety of trends professing to practise structural, mathematical or applied linguistics, and promising practical applications in natural language processing. The trends originating in the sixties comprise the so-called Set-theoretical School. In 1957 the mathematician Kolmogorov confronted the participants of a seminar on mathematical linguistics with a few pilot questions, such as what exactly do we mean when we say that two words are in the same case? The rigorous answers which the Set-theoretical School worked out for Kolmogorov's questions turned out to have far-reaching implications for linguistic theory.Case and Genderexamines both the contextual and the internal development of the Set-theoretical School. The rise and decline of the School can be ascribed to Soviet humanities policy, while the specifics of its linguistic development can be attributed to the non-linguistic backgrounds and applied goals of its first exponents. The two volumes contain a systematic account of the networks of definitions (models) proposed by the School, and provide a metamodel which facilitates providing a consistent formalization of the models and uncovering their implicit assumptions on the properties of language. The metamodel also enables an orderly comparison of the models with one another and with terminological systems developed elsewhere. Moreover, the models are evaluated, amended, and confronted with linguistic material from various languages. The later chapters are concluded with more far-reaching proposals. Kolmogorov's questions must be taken seriously. The turn toward a semantics-orientated approach which is evident in the last stage of the development of the Set-theoretical School must be pursued. New definitions of 'case' and 'gender' are proposed in accordance with the new approach.Case and Gendercontains not only an analytical survey of the complete scientific output of the Set-theoretical School on morphology and syntax but also a confrontation with contemporary western theories. It shows the viability of a tradition which was abandoned as a result of political developments. The long chapter on the history of the relationship between linguistics and politics in the Soviet Union contains new material on the 1950 linguistic discussion in Pravda, which was decided by Stalin's contribution and whose impact would last for decades to come.
