H: For the Year Ending February 15, 1908 Four schools have been maintained with two terms each. A spring term of 10 weeks and a fall term bf 11 weeks. The whole number of scholars registered during the year was 63. The whole number of scholars by enumeration, Sept. 1, 1907, between the ages of 5 and 16 years, was 48. The school board of Stoddard united with us in main taining the school in No. 8, paying one-half the teacher's salary and one-half the cost of fuel. Two scholars came from Stoddard. The board was handicapped by the lack of funds. The state school and literary funds were less than for several years, and there was no dog tax money available for schools. Twenty-one weeks is a short school year now-a-days, but we see by the school registers that far too many are not very zealous to live up to their privileges. Some of the marks we know were caused by sickness and are there fore excusable, but there were many not thus caused.
