There are now under the supervision of the Board one hundred and forty-four companies and the gas or electric light plants of fifteen towns and two cities. This is an in crease for the year of six companies and one town. Of the companies, forty-six are engaged in the supply of gas only, twenty-four ln the supply of both gas and electric light and seventy-four supply only electric light. Of the municipali ties, three have plants for the supply of gas and electricity, the others supply only electric light.
