Most of us never get to test ourselves in combat. As a UH-1 Helicopter pilot flying in the jungle highlands of South Vietnam, Warrant Officer Jim Crigler and the men he flew with were tested daily. Coming of age in the late 1960s and early 1970s was challenging for most young men of that era. Throw in drugs, free love, draft notices, the Vietnam War and a country deeply divided, and you have one of the most important books of this genre. This true story is a raw, bold, introspective autobiography where the author openly wrestles with his personal moral dilemma to find meaning and purpose in his life. He calls it his “Mission of Honor.”

In just a few short years, David Weber has shot to the forefront of science fiction! The core of his work is Honor Harrington, the toughest, smartest starship captain in the galaxy. Now Weber invites you to join him and his invitees as they explore Honor's universe. The Host and His Guests: David Weber himself is on board, first telling how young Honor Harrington and her treecat Nimitz faced the impossible task of rescuing the victims of an avalanche in a sub-zero blizzard, then revealing a chapter in the history of the telepathic treecats when a young human who bonded with a treecat was a Very Important Person. Specifically, she was a Manticoran crown princess and the heir to the throne of the empire.... Roland Green offers a hard-hitting account of what happened when Manticore and the People's Republic of Haven went eyeball-to-eyeball over a strategically vital planet.... Linda Evans looks at life among the treecats, before Honor.. .. Jane Lindskold tells how Honor's monarch, Elizabeth III, had to learn the hard way what monarchy is all about.... A Question of Honor is the gripping, little-known story of the refugee Polish pilots who joined the RAF and played an essential role in saving Britain from the Nazis, only to be betrayed by the Allies after the war. After Poland fell to the Nazis, thousands of Polish pilots, soldiers, and sailors escaped to England. Devoted to liberating their homeland, some would form the RAF’s 303 squadron, known as the Kosciuszko Squadron, after the elite unit in which many had flown back home. Their thrilling exploits and fearless flying made them celebrities in Britain, where they were “adopted” by socialites and seduced by countless women, even as they yearned for news from home. During the Battle of Britain, they downed more German aircraft than any other squadron, but in a stunning twist at the war’s end, the Allies rewarded their valor by abandoning Poland to Joseph Stalin. This moving, fascinating book uncovers a crucial forgotten chapter in World War II–and Polish–history.

Two families see their sons off to war. One family from the upper middle class in Los Angeles. The other from a poor family from a small town in Ohio. One lively young man was engaged to a beautiful young lady and the other a rambunctious single youth who was unattached yet loved life. One married his sweetheart before shipping overseas as a skilled fighter pilot. Both men would unknowingly cross paths on the fateful final mission for one of them. The pilot become just another statistic that day in March of 1944 when he joined the ranks of thousands of missing in action and left a grieving young widow behind. The other flew over two dozen bombing missions before being shot down and listed as killed in action. The missing pilot was recovered two years later from a small village cemetery in France and the other from a distant corner in a German country cemetery. Each of their families knew so very little of what had happened to them that we could only accumulate a paragraph of information between the two. Nearly sixty years after the war with each family's permission I set out to discover the truth of their service and missions, including their final mission and ultimate sacrifice. Through modern technology and detective work I located those that served with them and discovered the truth of what happened to each. The local witnesses of these tragic events came forward to not only tell their story but to honor two strangers from a far off land from decades ago. I realized I could not just tell the facts but I was also compelled to remember them for the uncles, brothers, sons and heroes that they were. Especially for a an 88 year old widow who never remarried and still waits to be reunited with the love of her youth. This journey, this story to bring Bradford Wikholm and Lawrence Hambel out from the stack of WWII statistics, tell their stories and remember them. My quest for truth ultimately became a mission of honor.

On the surface it seems a simple case: a group of African militiamen have kidnapped a priest and ordered all Catholic missionaries to leave the nation of Botswana. But the Vatican thinks otherwise. At its urging, Op-Center investigates—and finds out that the real purpose of the crime is a plan by outside forces to destabilize the government and seize the nation’s diamond mines. With its military team, Striker, out of commission, Op-Center must reinvent itself—and head straight into the crossfire of an African war.
