Not only am I the girl from @lemikasummer96 who was honored to meet the great icon 2Pac Shakur, I'm also a poet! I'm a single mother with a dream who chose to make it come true! Although Pac was one of the first souls that inspired through his art, physical being and spirit, I'm also moved by other legends and beautiful souls, which led me to create a unique style of poetry I refer to as Letters From an Angel. I've been writing poetry the majority of my life. This has helped me get through some difficult times and I wanted to share my gift with the world. Some may already know 2Pac Shakur took me under his wing and did a lot for me; I'm not talking about material things, but knowledge and wisdom that he passed down through his words and time. He often told me I had a gift with my words and that they will be heard one day. My poetry book is to release this side of me and to pay homage to the late icon and other public figures who affect this world on such a global scale that allowed me to create and express the impact their demise had on me. This inspired me to write these poems. These poems were written to help loved ones get that last goodbye from the deceased. Although the letters are fictional, my goal is to help their families have hope, patience, healing and understanding through this forever-long grieving process. We all have experienced the loss of loved ones. When a close family member of mine transitioned, I wrote my first letter. That letter helped me understand the process of letting go and spiritual love. However, I've decided to add years of different styles of my poetry in this book! If you have lived, this book of poetry applies to you. This book not only has Letters From an Angel, but covers current events, history, inspiration, illness, love, heartbreak, society impact, truth and so much more. There's truly something for everybody. This is a journey that my audience and I will take together. Thanks for all the love and support; fasten your seatbelts and let's take this ride. Enjoy, poetic angels. Love your one and only Lemika Early Open the Book of life through poetry! Motivation! Hope! Faith! Spiritual connection! Dedication! Revolution! Heartbreak! Mini Stories! Letters from Angel is a true story of a golden retriever/chow mix told in her own words. Her early years were spent in a family in a modest home in suburban New York. She blossomed into a beautiful, loving, energetic companion. When the father in the family continued to abuse her, Angel ran away. She survived for months on the loose, lived off the land, protected by homeless men and women, and her own inherited survival skills. When winter came, Angel was rescued by the SPCA, who identified her owners and brought her back to be reunited. The mother turned the rescuers away because she believed her husband would continue to abuse Angel. At nine years of age, Angel was taken to a dog shelter, her spirit crushed. When it appeared that all was lost, Angel was rescued. Her sad life turned into a Cinderella story. A new world opened up for her. Air travel (a funny story), a home that she describes as the “biggest dog house in the world,” winters on the beach in Florida, living in a New York City apartment, walking in Central Park. Angel tells her story in detail and shares her innermost thoughts on a wide variety of subjects, her reactions to lightning ashes and reworks, tricks on taking medicine, weight control, on and on. And at the end, she writes about the burdens she faced as she grew older. Angel’s letters are insightful and charming, revealing the inner life of a dog. It is a book for all ages.

Jodi Angel’s second story collection, You Only Get Letters from Jail, chronicles the lives of young men trapped in the liminal space between adolescence and adulthood. From picking up women at a bar hours after mom’s overdose to coveting a drowned girl to catching rattlesnakes with gasoline, Angel's characters are motivated by muscle cars, manipulative women, and the hope of escape from circumstances that force them either to grow up or give up. Haunted by unfulfilled dreams and disappointments, and often acting out of mixed intentions and questionable motives, these boys turned young men are nevertheless portrayed with depth, tenderness, and humanity. Angel’s gritty and heartbreaking prose leaves readers empathizing with people they wouldn't ordinarily trust or believe in.

A practical and spiritual guide for working moms to learn how to have more by doing less. This is a book for working women and mothers who are ready to release the culturally inherited belief that their worth is equal to their productivity, and instead create a personal and professional life that's based on presence, meaning, and joy. As opposed to focusing on "fitting it all in," time management, and leaning in, as so many books geared at ambitious women do, this book embraces the notion that through doing less women can have--and be--more. The addiction to busyness and the obsession with always trying to do more leads women, especially working mothers, to feel like they're always failing their families, their careers, their spouses, and themselves. This book will give women the permission and tools to change the way they approach their lives and allow them to embrace living in tune with the cyclical nature of the feminine, cutting out the extraneous busyness from their lives so they have more satisfaction and joy, and letting themselves be more often instead of doing all the time. Do Less offers the reader a series of 14 experiments to try to see what would happen if she did less in one specific way. So, rather than approaching doing less as an entire life overhaul (which is overwhelming in and of itself), this book gives the reader bite-sized steps to try incorporating over 2 weeks!
