Download Conflict Transformation and Reconciliation Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
This book examines approaches to reconciliation and peacebuilding in settler colonial, post-conflict, and divided societies. In contrast to current literature, this book provides a broader assessment of reconciliation and conflict transformation by applying a distinctive ‘multi-level’ approach. The analysis provides a unique intervention in the field, one that significantly complicates received notions of reconciliation and transitional justice, and considers conflict transformation across the constitutional, institutional, and relational levels of society. Drawing on extensive fieldwork in South Africa, Northern Ireland, Australia, and Guatemala, the work presents an interdisciplinary study of the complex political challenges facing societies attempting to transition either from violence and authoritarianism to peace and democracy, or from colonialism to post-colonialism. Informed by theories of agonistic democracy, the book conceives of reconciliation as a process that is deeply political, and that prioritises the capacity to retain and develop democratic political contest in societies that have, in other ways, been able to resolve their conflicts. The cases considered suggest that reconciliation is most likely an open-ended process rather than a goal — a process that requires divided societies to pay ongoing attention to reconciliatory efforts at all levels, long after the eyes of the world have moved on from countries where the work of reconciliation is thought to be finished. This book will be of great interest to students of reconciliation, conflict transformation, peacebuilding, transitional justice and IR in general.

This book investigates the lived experience of CEOs in their quest for wholeness and presents a model of spiritual intelligence for contemporary leadership. The experience of ethical and spiritual crisis in the post-modern society especially in organizational leadership, calls for deeper quest and spiritual intelligence. Four essential themes emerged from the analysis of the in-depth interviews with top leaders of different organizations across the globe: (1) Sensing Crisis, (2) Embracing Crisis (3) Awakening Hidden Wholeness, (4) and Serving Greater Good. From the analysis of the themes, a model of spiritual intelligence and leadership wholeness is constructed. Download Wholeness of Being in the Midst of Change Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
Whoever penned the phrase "There is nothing as constant as change" expressed a truth that never fades. It is equally as true that wherever we notice change we try to determine our place within it. We look for the circumstances that involve us. We look for the commonalities of people we know, places that we are familiar with, and things that seem to comfort us as change whirls around us. What sometimes gets overlooked are the areas in which change occurs and which we share with others on the planet. While diversity of people surround us, we are all joined by elements that are common to everyone. We have all grown up with a family in a home that held traditions and rites of passage. We sometimes find ourselves looking for the extraordinary in ordinary settings. If we are not looking at how to strengthen our connections with others, we sometimes want to know how to manage the delicate connections we have with friends and family and in all of it is the sometimes tremendous effort to find the balance in everyday living. Wholeness of Being in the Midst of Change looks at Seven Areas of Common Diversity that will be yours to explore. Whether individually or with a group, the journey will allow you to uncover ways of maintaining your balance as you go through this moment of transformation. Emotionally and spiritually your journey is the pathway to the wholeness of being that sometimes feels elusive, out of reach. Maintaining our balance in a world of change is no farther away than the familiarity of home and family, the comfort of traditions and rites of passage. We need only delve into these areas to understand how to draw strength from them or how to create strength from new insights.
