Excerpt from A Bibliography of Robert Owen: The Socialist, 1771-1858 This Bibliography of Robert Owen, an eminent Welshman, has been compiled to facilitate the collection of works written by him, and about him, in pursuance of one of the great aims of the National Library of Wales - to collect everything relating to the Principality and its people. The first section does not include the periodicals which Owen conducted, and it is probable that a number of locally published pamphlets belonging to section B have escaped record. Section D is certainly far from complete. In the Bibliography, Owen's writings have been arranged chronologically in order to illustrate his political development, a title-index being added that easy reference may be made to new editions issued with variant titles. The items are numbered throughout to facilitate cross-reference; the addition of a letter to the number (as 144A, 144B, etc.) being due to the insertion of items after the numbering was cast.
